Kathryn Hodge Messick
Kathryn Hodge Messick is a 19 year teaching veteran in the public school districts surrounding the Kansas City metro area. She has taught 6th-12th grade Art Education and 9th-12th grade Social Sciences. She is currently a Middle School Art Teacher in Lee's Summit, MO. She is also the Head Girl's Track & Field Coach at her school.
Kathryn grew up in Blue Springs, MO and attended Blue Springs South High School. She attended Missouri State University to obtain her BSED in k-12 Art & Design Education. She went on to attend William Woods University to gain her MSED in Athletic & Activities Administration. She recently graduated with her second MSED from the University of Kansas in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorder. ​
Kathryn has been active in the Kansas City Art Community through her work at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art as both a member of the Teacher Advisory Board, and as a contributing artist to their annual Dia de los Muertos festival each year. She has worked with several community organizations including The Kansas City Museum and Mattie Rhodes.

Kathryn and her husband Ryan own and operate a 300 acre farm in Southwest Missouri where they raise cattle, fish, and hunt the land with their two German Wirehaired Pointers. They enjoy traveling together as a family in the summer and watching their boys participate in various activities and sports year round.
